Dinah Shore American singer, actress and television personality Dinah Shore was a hugely popular recording artist throughout the Big Band Era in the 1940s and 1950s. She was one of the first singers in her era to achieve solo success, consistenly featuring in the US Top 40 and Top 10. Her No.1 singles include "I'll Walk Alone", "The Gypsy", "The Anniversary" and "Buttons and Bows". Shore also had a highly successful career on television, presenting many of her own shows, for which she received nine Emmys, a Peabody Award and a Golden Globe.
